Local Contributions

To assist with the development of the local communities where its businesses operate, the ALCONIX Group engages in efforts that include participation in local events, factory tours, and hands-on experience for elementary and junior high school students. The Group also fulfills its role as a corporate citizen by taking an active part in job creation and the development of local industries.

The scrap collection carried out by ALUMINUM & COPPER RECYCLING CENTER is not only its main business—it is inherently an initiative for the environment and a recycling-oriented society. In addition, the company also donates to the Japanese Red Cross Society every year. Furthermore, the head office in Hirakata City purchases non-ferrous metal scrap collected by nearby companies as well as aluminum cans collected by local children’s groups.

Letter of appreciation from the Aichi Prefectural Police Headquarters

TOKAI YOGYO received a letter of appreciation from the Toyota Police Station and Aichi Prefectural Police Headquarters, and was dubbed a model office for safe driving management in recognition of its traffic safety patrols and other initiatives. The company also takes part in the local community as a registered member of the Toyota SDGs Partner program, sponsored by Toyota City. Under this program, the company creates jobs by giving technical guidance for the products it handles and makes arrangements to recycle the wastewater produced by its factories.

Practical training for trainees

FUJI CARBON MANUFACTURING offers internship opportunities to students from Toyohashi University of Technology and provides them with hands-on experience to gain practical knowledge and skills. The company also participates in traffic safety patrols and lifesaving seminars to strengthen its ties to the local community.

In-house fundraising activities to support Ukraine

TOHOKU CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES made donations to the UNHCR and the Japan Committee for UNICEF through the Japanese Association of Metal, Machinery, and Manufacturing Workers in order to support Ukraine. The company is also working to deepen its relationship with the local community by making donations to the local social welfare council and by cleaning up Fujimidai Industrial Park, where the company is located.

In March 2022, and for the second consecutive year, the Narita Factory site was provided as the venue for a local blood donation drive, and MARKTEC employees voluntarily made active efforts to donate blood. In addition, 10 employees attended a general lifesaving course at the Daiei Fire Station in Narita City in October 2022 to gain the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to emergency situations.

Invest Steuben Award

UNIVERTICAL HOLDINGS INC. (UHI) received an award from a local NPO dedicated to supporting economic development, such as attracting new business investment and creating employment opportunities in the local region.
In cooperation with the NPO, UHI conducted factory tours for local high school students in April 2022 to support their career development.

Receiving the Aichi Prefectural Governor’s Award
Certification under the Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Recognition Program

FUJI PRESS is making an active effort to employ people with disabilities and has achieved an employment rate of 4.31% for people with disabilities, approximately twice the national average. The company was awarded the Aichi Prefectural Governor’s Award in recognition of these efforts.
As an additional initiative, aimed at developing alongside the community, the company offers work-site tours and job shadowing to local high school students each year. The company has also been selected under the 2022 Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Recognition Program for its efforts to raise awareness of the importance of health, safety, and a comfortable work environment.

Donation of non-woven face masks
Letter of appreciation from a welfare facility

Fujine Sangyo donated 20,000 non-woven face masks to the local social welfare council as a countermeasure against the spread of COVID-19. This donation was intended to prevent mass infections at welfare facilities and was met with the approval of local residents. The company also engages in garbage pickup activities around its factory site once every three months.

Certificate from Miyako City recognizing employee participation in the local volunteer fire brigade

Jupiter Industry was recognized for its employees’ active participation in the volunteer fire brigade in Miyako City. In addition, the company continues to hold factory tours and hands-on workshops for local junior high and high school students to support local employment. The factory tour activity has been canceled for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

FUJI ALCONIX Mexico respects the diversity of its employees and makes every effort to provide them with a comfortable work environment. Mexico is fraught with an obesity problem, and as a result, several employees suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure. To improve employee health and health awareness, the company participates in the Entornos Laborales Seguros y Saludables (safe and healthy work environments) program, led by the Mexican Institute of Social Security. Under this program, the company provides eligible employees with medical examinations, dietary advice, and medication once every two weeks.
