Materiality

In May 2022, the Sustainability Committee played a central role as the ALCONIX Group identified the material issues (materiality) that determine its highest priority sustainability initiatives. By addressing these material issues, we aim to provide solutions for societal issues and continuously enhance our corporate value, as stated in our Basic Policy for Sustainability.
The Sustainability Promotion Office initiated the material issue identification process by discussing challenges that must be addressed if the ALCONIX Group is to achieve sustainable growth moving forward. These discussions were informed by international guidelines, evaluation criteria defined by ESG rating agencies, and the results of meetings held with investors.
Based on a report on these discussions and opinions from outside directors and experts, the Sustainability Committee and Board of Directors organized a list of candidate issues before deciding upon four material issues for the ALCONIX Group.
As a company with its roots in trading and distribution, ALCONIX recognizes that the value it generates stems from the skills that its employees bring to the table. Accordingly, we have selected human capital ("H") as our highest priority material issue and have specifically designated a central target of radically upgrading our human capital.
Moving forward, the ALCONIX Group will communicate with stakeholders and observe trends in its surrounding social environment as it continues to develop and refine its list of material issues while promoting efforts targeting their resolution.
